sorry to the few of you checking this page without me updating =| I will try and keep it more up to date I promise =)~
well I am always amazed by how much the people here love president Bush. What is worse they assume since you are an American that you too love him.
A good example was last friday at the bar we all go to called the "Billfish", a man bought us some beers then proceeded to toast to Bush. If I had a beer I would have poured it out. I am not sure where the Tongans get their ideas abuot Bush from but some of it may be from the churches here since they would obviously be in support of Bush's pro-life stance (though 700 american's have died in iraq so far and countless more Iraqi's and Afgany's have died). He is pro-preformed life but once it is grown it is fine to kill it I suppose. But I digress, I tried to explain to this gentleman that Bush is not liked by all Americans and for good reason. Finialy it ended with him just walking off, the Tongans in general are not ones for political debate. It is also interresting to hear from some of the volunteers on the outer islands on this subject. Aparantly some of the Tongans on the outer islands think we are at war with Iraq because they are not christian.
what a wonderful message our country is spreading around the world. No wonder people in europe and australia think the thigns they do about us. it would also help if more americans went overseas but that's a longer entry and one I will do soon.
